Suspect arrested 90-minutes after Robbing Closed Mankato Restaurant
A robbery was reported at 11:15 p.m. on Thursday, May 8, at the Kentucky Fried Chicken on 1110 Madison Avenue. The business was closed when the female suspect entered through an unlocked door, brandished a gun and fled with an undisclosed amount of money. All three employees were unharmed and are safe. Officers were able to quickly identify the suspect upon reviewing security footage.
The use of a drone to search the area was instrumental in locating the firearm believed to have been used in the robbery. The suspect was taken into custody without incident at 12:45 a.m. on Friday, May 9. Authorities also recovered cash during the arrest.
Mankato Police were assisted by the North Mankato Police Department, Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota State Patrol. This remains an active investigation.
