Three arrested for reckless discharge of firearms
At approximately 12:21 a.m. on Dec. 11, Mankato Department of Public Safety officers responded to multiple reports of gunshots in the area of 703 N. 4th Street. Upon arrival, officers learned from witnesses that three individuals had run into the residence at that address.
Officers made contact with individuals inside the home and observed several spent shell casings near the back door. Witness information and the initial investigation indicate the gunfire stemmed from irresponsible behavior on the property and was not directed at people. No one was injured during this incident.
A search warrant was obtained, and during the search officers recovered multiple firearms. A small amount of suspected cocaine was also located in the residence.
Jose Hernandez Jr., 31; Roberto Damaso Dominguez, 22; and Wilson Baysy Fletcher, 26, all from Mankato, were arrested and booked into jail. Charges are pending review by the Blue Earth County Attorney’s Office.
Discharging a firearm within city limits is a felony under reckless discharge statutes, due to the significant danger it poses to the community.
