Mankato West and East Rank Among Minnesota’s Top Public High Schools

Mankato West High School and Mankato East High School have been recognized among Minnesota’s top public high schools in the 2026 U.S. News & World Report Best High Schools rankings.

Mankato West ranked 20th and Mankato East ranked 56th among 420 public high schools evaluated across Minnesota. Within the Big 9 Conference, West ranked first and East ranked fourth.

“This recognition reflects our staff’s continued commitment to high quality public education in the Mankato area,” Mankato Area Public Schools Superintendent Paul Peterson said. “We are proud to see both West and East highlighted among Minnesota’s leading high schools. These rankings affirm our commitment to rigorous, relevant and engaging learning for every student, every day.”

The annual U.S. News & World Report rankings recognize public high schools for student achievement and college readiness.
