Charges: Teen Siblings Walking Home When Hit By Accused Drunk Driver
(Hennepin County, MN) — Charges filed yesterday allege a driver was speeding and drunk when she hit teen siblings who were crossing the street in Bloomington. Court records show 27-year-old Mikala Ness was charged with two counts of criminal vehicular homicide for being drunk and leaving the scene, and criminal vehicular operation in connection with the Friday evening crash near 12th Avenue and East 78th Street. Seventeen-year-old Donald Gayton Jr. died Sunday from severe head injuries. His 14-year-old sister Tanya Gayton is recovering from serious injuries.
