Republican Brad Finstad wins the First Congressional District special election.  Finstad beat Democrat Jeff Ettinger in the race to fill the vacant congressional seat. Finstad received 60,261 votes to Ettinger’s 55,341.  The seat was previously held by the late GOP Congressman Jim Hagedorn, who died in February after suffering from kidney cancer.  The winner will serve out Hagedorn’s term, which ends in January.  Finstad and Ettinger face off again in November for the full two-year congressional term after winning their respective parties’ primaries yesterday.
