Mankato Area Public Schools’ Annual StringFest to Showcase Record Number of Young Musicians
Mankato Area Public Schools (MAPS) invites the community to experience the extraordinary talent of its string students at StringFest 2025 on Tuesday, March 11, at the Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center – Grand Hall. The concert begins at 5:00 p.m., with admission priced at $8 for adults, $6 for seniors, $5 for students, and $20 for families (no activity passes accepted).
StringFest features students in grades 6-12 from Prairie Winds Middle School, Dakota Meadows Middle School, Mankato East High School, and Mankato West High School. Since its inception in 2012, this event has become a highly anticipated tradition, bringing together student musicians from across the district. This year’s event marks a milestone, with more than 325 students participating—a record number in the festival’s history!
StringFest is more than just a performance; it is an opportunity to inspire young musicians, foster a sense of community, and highlight the impact of string education. The event features a collegiate-level conductor and accomplished directors from across Minnesota, providing students with an enriching experience that connects them to the possibilities of higher education and future musical careers.
“StringFest is a celebration of music, mentorship, and dedication,” said Alica Corbett. “This event not only showcases our students’ incredible talents but also reinforces the value of music education in shaping their artistic and academic journeys.”
Join us for an unforgettable evening of music as we celebrate the hard work and passion of our young musicians. Come be part of StringFest 2025 and witness the power of music in our community!
