Mankato mother in need of a new heart

Colleen Ireland of Mankato turned to GoFundMe as her sister is now in need of a new heart following a series of health issues. Ireland says her sister, Megan, is dealing with congestive heart failure. Doctors aren’t sure if it is due to the kidney issues she’s been dealing with most of her life, and she was told her best option would be a new heart. 

“Megan is a daughter, a sister, a wife, a friend, a nurse, and, most importantly, a mother,” fundraiser organizer Colleen said. “Losing Megan is not an option, and we are determined to do everything in our power to give her a chance at a full recovery and a full life”. 

So far, more than $31,000 has been donated to help the family.
