Mankato Woman Dies After Crash in Olmsted County

HIGH FOREST TOWNSHIP — A semi crash has left a Mankato woman dead in Olmsted County. A car and semi-truck crash in High Forest Township Wednesday morning resulted in the death of the woman.

The Minnesota State Patrol said a Freightliner M2 traveling northbound on County Road 8 in Olmsted County collided with a Toyota Prius traveling the east direction on Highway 30. The crash took place around 8:45 in the morning, according to the report.

Lenora Tahtinen, 83, of Mankato, the driver of the Prius, died. The semi driver had non-life-threatening injuries, according to the report. That driver was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital, officials said.

The Minnesota State Patrol said the roads were wet the day and time of the crash.
