Mankato YMCA Brother/Sister Mentoring Program receives grant from Mankato Clinic Foundation
The Mankato Family YMCA Brother/Sister Mentoring Program has received a $15,000 grant from the Mankato Clinic Foundation to be used to continue to maintain and grow the mentoring program in the Mankato area community.
“The support of grants like this enables us to meet the needs of our program participants and for that we are grateful”, said Tom Schueneman, Director of Social Responsibility for Mankato Family YMCA.
Currently there are 75 youth ages 5-15 waiting for a mentor. The mentoring program addresses the challenges of childhood. Mentors offer consistent support and helping children believe in a positive future. The Mankato Clinic Foundation provides grants once a quarter to organizations and initiatives that promote and improve community health and wellness in the communities the clinic serves. The Mankato Clinic Foundation is proud to support these organizations.
The physicians at the Mankato Clinic provide the majority of the Foundation funding as a means to give back to the community by providing support to organizations which strive to improve health and wellness.
