Mankato’s Water Conservation Program In Effect

Mankato’s Lawn Watering Conservation Program remains in effect for all residential and commercial properties using City of Mankato water. Conserving and reducing usage helps ensure the area’s groundwater resources are used efficiently. Conservation also helps protect the limited supply of water in local shallow wells and the deeper Mt. Simon Aquifer, which can take thousands of years to replenish.

Follow Mankato’s odd-even lawn watering schedule, and help us help you you avoid a fine:

  • Do not water between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. daily. This helps avoid evaporation during the hottest times of the day.
  • Watering schedule is every other day based on a property address.
    • Even-numbered property addresses (ending in 0, 2, 4, 6 and 8) may water on even-numbered days.
    • Odd-numbered property addresses (ending in 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9) may water on odd-numbered days.
