MN Republican State Rep Dave Baker “Not a Happy Camper” With New THC Legalities
State Representative Dave Baker Says he’s “not a happy camper” that edibles and beverages containing THC are now legal in Minnesota.
The Willmar Republican says the language was included in a large health and human services bill that came up very late in the session. Baker says if he’s re-elected, he will work with other House Republicans to reverse the bill.
Baker stated “We can reverse it as well, but a lot of members were caught flat-footed on this one to say what it is, and I do not want to see edibles in Minnesota that will make you high. I don’t think this is a good thing for our state.”
House Democratic Majority Leader Ryan Winkler said earlier in the week “We absolutely did this on purpose. It was an intentional step forward.”
Senate Republicans strongly oppose legalizing recreational marijuana.
