New Ulm Fire Department Dispatched to Apartment Fire Wednesday Morning
On April 16, 2025 at 12:37 am, the New Ulm Fire Department was dispatched to 209 South Minnesota Street for reported smoke throughout an apartment building. Upon arrival, Police & Fire evacuated the tenants of the building. The fire originated in the kitchen of one apartment and was contained to that apartment, there was also smoke throughout the building. Working smoke detectors were present. The fire was under control within
approximately ½ hour and crews were on scene for approximately 1 ½ hours. The cause of the fire is under investigation. No injuries were reported.
The New Ulm Fire Department was assisted by the New Ulm Police Department, Allina Ambulance and Red Cross, who assisted with housing.
