The North Mankato Police Department announces the successful completion of its first body-worn camera program audit, marking an important milestone in the agency’s ongoing commitment to transparency, accountability, and professional policing practices.

This biennial audit is required under law and evaluates the agency’s body-worn camera program to ensure compliance with:

• Retention of Data
• Access by Data Subjects
• Inventory of Portable Recording System Technology
• Use of Agency-Issued Portable Recording Systems
• Authorization to Access Data
• Sharing Among Agencies
• Public Comment on Program Implementation and;
• Body-worn Camera Policy

The successful audit confirms that the agency is properly managing and maintaining its body-worn camera program in accordance with established standards and demonstrates the department’s dedication to maintaining public trust through accountability and professionalism.
