North Mankato Police Investigate car Prowling

On Monday, March 24th, 2025, at 11:30 p.m. officers from the North Mankato Police Department were dispatched to a report of a subject found rummaging through a vehicle on the 700 block of Lyndale Ave, and that the 911 caller was chasing the subject on foot.

Officers arrived and found the 911 caller near the intersection of Range St. and Page Ave. and were told that the subject was last seen running west at the 500 block of Range St.

The 911 caller also told officers that at one point while chasing the subject, he stopped and threatened to stab the caller, then continued running.

The subject was described as an African American male, taller, larger build, in his late teens to early 20s, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and wind pants.

Officers actively patrolled the area but did not locate the subject.

On the morning of March 25th police received additional calls of cars broken into on the 300/400 blocks of Belgrade Ave, the 400/500 blocks of South Ave, and they are suspecting more have happened overnight.

Police are asking the public to check their surveillance cameras to see if they have captured video/images of the suspect. If anything is found, please call NMPD at 507-625-7883.
