Ponderosa Landfill Hosting Free Electronics Recycling Opportunity June 17th
The Ponderosa Landfill, 20028 Gooseberry Lane, Mankato, will be hosting a free collection event for electronics for Blue Earth County residents. The event will be held on June 17, 2025, from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. Funding for this event has been provided by the U.S. Department of Energy, through a partnership between the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency and Dynamic Lifecycle Innovations.
During this event, Blue Earth County residents may recycle up to five (5) electronics items for free. Items accepted after the initial five will be charged for at the regular disposal rate of $15 per item. Proof of residency will be requested, and business waste will not be accepted during this time. Examples of qualifying items accepted for free during this event are:

Peripheral electronic items such as mice, keyboards, hard drives, speakers, web cams, and cables will continue to be accepted for free throughout the event and are not counted toward the recycling limit.
Residents of the City of Mankato are also reminded that the City holds a contract with Green Tech Recycling allowing for the disposal of up to 350 pounds of electronic waste per year for free with proof of residency via a water utility bill.
