In addition to the House voting on free school lunches and breakfasts this afternoon (330pm start) and the Senate likely confirming more Walz cabinet members today (11am start), committees are going full blast at the State Capitol:

There is what could be the final hearing (830am) before a Senate floor vote on repealing a number of abortion restrictions that courts struck down but which remain on the books in Minnesota.  There’s a House hearing (830am) on controversial gun bills requiring universal background checks on purchasers and a “red flag” law to take guns away from those judged a danger to themselves or others.  School counselors rally at the Capitol (915am) for more funding for student mental health supports.  And there’s a Senate hearing this afternoon (3pm) on a bill to legalize recreational marijuana.  The measure has cleared half its required committees in the House: number seven yesterday.
