Ponderosa Landfill Offering Free Electronics Recycling Opportunity on April 24th
In honor of Earth Week, The Ponderosa Landfill, located at 20028 Gooseberry Lane, Mankato, will be hosting a free collection event for electronics for Blue Earth County residents. The event will be held on April 24th from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.
During this event, Blue Earth County residents may recycle up to five (5) electronics items for free. Items accepted after the initial five will be charged for at the regular disposal rate of $15 per item. Proof of residency will be requested, and business waste will not be accepted during this time. Examples of qualifying items accepted for free during this event are listed below:
TVs, Monitors, Computers, Tablets, Laptops, Fax Machines, DVD Players, VCRs, Blue Ray Players, Copiers, Printers, Other Items
Peripheral electronic items such as mice, keyboards, hard drives, speakers, web cams, and cables will continue to be accepted for free throughout the event and are not counted toward the recycling limit.
Residents of the City of Mankato are also reminded that the City holds a contract with Green Tech Recycling allowing for the disposal of up to 350 pounds of electronic waste per year for free with proof of residency via a water utility bill.
