Work is set to begin soon on the 2025 Adams Street Resurfacing Project, which includes resurfacing Adams Street from Raintree Road to Highway 22 and reconstructing several nearby alleys. The projects will take place in stages, with different areas closing at different times. All timelines are weather dependent.

Alley Reconstruction

Reconstruction of the alleys from Byron Street to Parsons Street, between Lincoln Street and Pleasant Street, will begin the week of August 18. Crews will remove the existing pavement and replace it with new bituminous pavement. These alleys are expected to reopen in early September.
The week of August 25, reconstruction will start on the alley from Harper Street to the south, between 8th Avenue and 7th Avenue, and the alley from Maxfield Street to the south, between 4th Avenue and 3rd Avenue. In addition to replacing the gravel surface with new pavement, the Maxfield Street alley will also receive new underground storm sewer piping to improve drainage. These alleys are expected to reopen in mid-September. Vehicle access will not be available in any of these alleys during construction.

Adams Street Resurfacing

Resurfacing of Adams Street from Raintree Road to Highway 22 will begin September 2. The work will also include replacing select curb, gutter, and sidewalk segments. Construction will be completed in two phases: Phase 1 is expected to finish in early October, followed immediately by Phase 2, which is anticipated to wrap up by mid-October.

Adams Street will be closed to through traffic during construction. Detour routes will be posted.
