All are welcome to experience a festive blend of food and design at the  “Grateful Gathering” on Tuesday, November 25, from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the South Central College North Mankato campus, located at 1925 Lee Boulevard. The seasonal event showcases the innovation and collaboration of students in SCC’s Culinary Arts and Architectural Drafting and Design programs.

Guests will enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving Feast prepared by Culinary Arts students, featuring holiday favorites such as turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes with gravy, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie.

Adding a sweet and spirited twist to the event is the Gingerbread House Competition. Teams of students from SCC’s Architectural Drafting and Design and Culinary Arts programs have partnered to design, construct, and decorate imaginative gingerbread houses. Attendees are encouraged to vote for their favorite creation. The South Central College Foundation will host a silent auction of the houses, with proceeds benefiting the participating programs.

Thanksgiving meals are $10 per person, $5 for children under eight, and free for SCC students with a ticket from SCC Student Life. Dine-in and to-go options are available. Last year, the event sold out, so to guarantee a spot, members of the public can pre-order tickets early at www.southcentral.edu/Events.
