Mankato Department of Public Safety Authorities searching for home burglary suspect
At approximately 8:30 a.m. Monday, Mankato Department of Public Safety officers responded to reports of a burglary in the 500 block of South 2nd Street. Residents said they woke up to find a person unknown to them inside their home. When confronted, the suspect fled the residence on foot.
A variety of personal property was stolen, including electronics, shoes, and other items.
The suspect was captured on a neighboring home surveillance system leaving the residence. He is described as a black male, approximately 50 to 60 years old, around 5 feet 9 inches tall. He was last seen wearing jeans and a dark-colored shirt or jacket.
Public Safety is asking for assistance in identifying the suspect. Anyone with information is encouraged to call 911.
