Mankato Department of Public Safety makes arrest in June 12 shooting

Mankato Department of Public Safety (DPS) arrested Ahmed Mohamed Mohamud (DOB 08/06/2006) of North Mankato in connection with a shooting incident from earlier this summer. On June 12, officers were called to 741 S. Victory Drive in response to multiple reports of gunshots. When they arrived, officers found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Those responsible for the shooting had already fled the scene.

Ahmed Mohamed Mohamud was charged today in Blue Earth County Court with the following: attempted murder in the 2nd degree; assault in the 1st degree; assault in the 2nd degree. The shooting victim remains hospitalized with significant injuries. This arrest reflects a continued effort by DPS to address violent crime and ensure public safety in Mankato.
