Minnesota Valley Action Council receives grant from Mankato Clinic Foundation
Minnesota Valley Action Council has received a $3,000 grant from the Mankato Clinic Foundation to be used for the purchase of children’s bicycle helmets. The helmets will be given to Head Start children at MVAC Head Start Books, Bikes, and Ice Cream socials held in May.
“Words cannot fully express our gratitude to the Mankato Clinic Foundation,” said Executive Director Amanda Mackie. “This grant to help some of our littlest program participants is truly appreciated.”
Minnesota Valley Action Council (MVAC), a Community Action Agency, people secure affordable housing, viable transportation, employment and training for employment, as well as creating educational opportunities for children and parents. Head Start is a vital part of this mission. Head Start encourages the role of parents as their child’s first and most important teachers.
The Mankato Clinic Foundation provides grants to organizations and initiatives that promote and improve health and wellness in the communities the clinic serves. The Mankato Clinic Foundation is proud to support these organizations.
The physicians at the Mankato Clinic provide the majority of the Foundation funding as a means to give back to the community and support organizations that strive to improve health and wellness.
