(St. Paul, MN) —  Simultaneous hearings this morning (Tuesday 8:30 a-m) in the Minnesota House and Senate as Democrats continue a push to put abortion rights into Minnesota law.  Opponents say the bill would allow abortion up to the moment of birth.  North Branch Republican Anne Neu (NOO) Brindley called it, “the most extreme position on abortion probably in the world.  This puts us in league with places like North Korea.” Backers respond late-term abortions are exceedingly rare, but they say it should still be the mother’s choice in consultation with her doctor.  D-F-L leaders say what happened with Roe v. Wade could happen in Minnesota, too.
