The Mankato Clinic Foundation has awarded $25,000 to the Educare Foundation to support learning initiatives and programs in Mankato Area Public Schools for a total of $150,000 in grants since 2019.

“By partnering with the Educare Foundation, we have been able to make a difference for students and teachers in our classrooms and schools,” said Marcia Bahr, Mankato Clinic Foundation president. “With insight into the needs of our students, teachers and schools, we can best support children and families in our community.

Educare is a non-profit, public entity which provides financial support to Mankato Area Public Schools, beyond the normal operating budgets, for programs and activities that enhance educational opportunities for all students. Through this funding, Educare enables teachers to explore new ways to expand a world of learning for their students.

The Educare Foundation funds Ed Waltman mini-grants to teachers for learning tools. In the 2023-24 school year, the Mankato Clinic Foundation funds helped purchase social and emotional learning games and books for Jefferson Elementary School. Larger Educator Initiative grants include the purchase of robots for STEM activities and cross-country skis for all MAPS elementary schools.

“On behalf of Educare, I want to express our deep appreciation for the longstanding partnership we share with the Mankato Clinic Foundation. Through these annual and generous contributions, we are able to empower the incredible educators within the Mankato School District, allowing them to think outside the box and implement innovative strategies that inspire and educate the youth in our community,” says Darren Blue, chairperson of Educare Foundation. “The Mankato Clinic Foundation helps us shape a brighter future for the next generation.”
