MN Dems Pushing For First Pick In Presidential Primaries
(St. Paul, MN) — Minnesota Democrats want first say in the next presidential primary election. The Democratic National Committee is reconsidering which states should first pick a presidential nominee after the Iowa Caucuses delayed results last year. DNC Chairman Ken Martin issued a statement yesterday, pointing to Minnesota’s “high voter turnout and strong tradition of civic engagement.” Martin called the state “a top contender” because candidates will need to appeal to a diverse group of voters.
