Park Rapids woman crowned Miss Minnesota 2025, Lakeville teen wins Miss Minnesota’s Teen 2025
A three-day competition of 40 candidates at Treasure Island Resort & Casino culminated Friday with the crowning of Miss Minnesota 2025 and Miss Minnesota’s Teen 2025. Emma Vrieze, Miss Glacial Waters, is the new Miss Minnesota, and Lily Geyer, Miss Twin Cities’ Teen, was crowned Miss Minnesota’s Teen 2025.
Emma Vrieze, Miss Minnesota 2025, is the recipient of a $10,000 educational scholarship and will represent Minnesota at the 2026 Miss America competition.
Vrieze is a Nursing student with a Psychology Minor at Minnesota State University Moorhead and a Float Team Nursing Assistant at Essentia Health. Her community service initiative, which she will promote during her year of service, is Swim With Knowledge: Water Safety.
“As a competitive swimmer, lifeguard, swimming lessons instructor, pool manager, swim coach, and water skier, I have learned the importance of staying safe around the water,” Vrieze said. “Through these jobs and hobbies, I’ve grown a strong passion for educating people of all ages about water safety.”
For the talent portion of the competition, Vrieze sang “House of the Rising Sun.”
The Miss Minnesota competition featured 23 candidates ages 18-28 competing in Private Interview, On Stage Question, Health & Fitness, Performance Talent, and Evening Gown. Top five finalists in the Miss Minnesota competition include:
1st runner up – Miss Owatonna – Jasmine Kotek
2nd runner up – Miss River Valley – Whitney McClain
3rd runner up – Miss Waseca County Sleigh & Cutter – May Diddy
4th runner up – Miss Coon Rapids – Sage Hovet
Lily Geyer, Miss Minnesota’s Teen, is a 17-year-old student at Eastview High School. She is the recipient of a $2,500 educational scholarship, and will represent Minnesota at the Miss America’s Teen 2026 competition.
For the talent portion of the competition, Geyer performed a jazz dance to “Last Dance.”
As Miss Minnesota’s Teen, Geyer will spend the year as Minnesota’s teen ambassador at various events across the state. She will also promote her community service initiative, Cheer for the Children: Provide, Support and Promote Success.
“My mission is to connect our communities and provide students with essential supplies and hygiene products so they can focus on what truly matters – gaining an education and building a brighter future to be the successful leaders of tomorrow,” said Geyer.
The Miss Minnesota’s Teen competition featured 17 candidates from across the state. Top three finalists include:
1st runner up – Miss North Oaks’ Teen – Maisie Adams
2nd runner up – Miss Mankato’s Teen – Abigail Selyukov
