Senator Smith continues her work to destigmatize mental health care
U.S. Senator Tina Smith has introduced legislation that would hold big health insurance companies accountable if they dodge compliance and deny mental health coverage. She says too many insurance companies are listing inaccurate health care listings for mental health services:
“They’re called Ghost networks and a recent study found that they’re quite prevalent in one situation only 26% of the providers and the health plans directory were actually accepting new patients.”
Smith says every Minnesotan deserves access to the quality healthcare they need.
