Walz Welcomes Queen Sonja of Norway to Minnesota

Governor Tim Walz says it was an honor to meet with Her Majesty Queen Sonja of Norway.  The governor helped kick off the Queen’s four-day visit to Minnesota on Thursday.

The Minnesota National Guard and Norwegian Home Guard have an annual troop exchange program, which will mark 50 years in February. Walz says he looks forward to further strengthening and expanding our ties. The Queen will also visit St. Olaf College in Northfield and attend a 100th-anniversary event of the founding of the Norwegian Lutheran Memorial Church, “Mindekirken.”
